Dr. Irwin Hudson earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from Mississippi State University. This chapter helped shape the discipline and problem solving that would later guide his coaching journey.
After moving into the basketball training industry, Dr. Hudson founded OrlandoHoops, Inc. The program became known as one of the top basketball training businesses in Florida.
Coach Hudson began coaching high school basketball while also working as a Systems Engineer for the Department of Defense. His time on the sidelines gave him a deeper view of parents, players, pressure, and competition.
Dr. Hudson earned his doctorate degree in 2016. From that point, the name “DrCoach” became a fitting reflection of his academic work, coaching experience, and mission to help parents see youth sports more clearly.

After earning his degree in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University, Dr. Hudson moved to Orlando and found his way back to basketball. He founded OrlandoHoops, Inc. in 1995, began coaching in 1997, and later earned his Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida.
